London Preachers Conference 2018

It’s the first thing in my diary - I think for us, the quality of our preaching is the new battleground, and for us to be together as people who ‘get’ London is essential.
Chris Green, St James Muswell Hill

I know that I need biblical stimulation from good Bible teachers and space to get away from the normal demands of ministry.  The London Preachers' Conference is perfect because the teaching is from people I trust, the environment is refreshing and I have the added bonus of being with others who also minister in London.
                                                                     Tim Manson, Gunnersbury Baptist Church

Feedback from 2017 Conference:

Fellowship with other pastors. Excellent teaching in comfortable surroundings

The preaching groups with no prep(!) were realistic but hugely helpful.  I’ve learned a great deal.

This was my first time on the conference and I’m looking forward to next year already.

Excellent venue and very good food!!!

It’s been a huge privilege and blessing to be here.

The London Preachers Conference 2018 will be on Tuesday 27 February (4pm) - Thursday 1 March 2018 (2pm) in Chesham, Buckinghamshire with speakers Christopher Ash and Chris Green.

  • Our fundamental conviction is that when the Bible is preached, God’s voice is heard - that the Spirit of God takes the Word of God to do the work of God among the people of God.
  • Our aim is to encourage and equip pastor-teachers in the local church, a relentlessly demanding and often lonely work.

Key Components

  • Bible expositions -to feed our minds and fire our hearts, given by an experienced pastor-teacher. Speakers are briefed not just to preach but to guide how to preach a particular book or section or genre. This can then be used as part of our own preaching schedule.
  • Preaching MOT workshops - in small groups listening to a recent sermon.
  • Prayer - together for one another to encourage us in our ministries.
  • Addresses - on key issues at the cutting edge of ministry.
  • Fellowship - with like-minded evangelicals across denominational lines, working in the same challenging context.

Preaching MOT Workshops

These are a distinct and central feature of many preaching conferences. We do it this way: each workshop is small, with only three or four people. We listen to a recent recording of each other’s preaching. So zero preparation before the conference! You just need to send your sermon in advance.

When, where & how much?

The conference is run by the South East Gospel Partnership. Dates for 2018 are Tuesday 27 February (4pm) - Thursday 1March 2018(2pm). It is held in the Chartridge Conference Centre near Chesham, Bucks, HP5 2TU & costs £220, which includes all meals and your own ensuite bedroom. For more details & to book, please contact Ruth Quilter
