London Gospel Partnership Conference 2019 with speaker Kevin DeYoung
10-4pm Saturday 2 February 2019 East London Tabernacle
The London Gospel Partnership Conference God’s Message by God’s Means for London will take place at the East London Tabernacle 10:00 till 4pm on Saturday 2 February 2019. The cost is £25.00 per delegate until 14 December 2018 and £30.00 thereafter.
We have asked Kevin DeYoung to be our key speaker who will seek to encourage us that the local church is God’s means for reaching London with God’s message the gospel for the salvation of the lost. We will also be hearing news from around London about how this is happening in very different social and cultural contexts and we will be considering how we can partner together locally for glory of God.
Talks from this conference can be found on our resources page.
London Preachers Conference February 2020!
(please note this course is for UK residents only)
London Preachers Conference 2019 will be on Tuesday 25 February (4pm) - Thursday 27 February 2020 (2pm) in Chesham, Buckinghamshire with speakers Robin Weekes, minister Emmanuel Wimbledon and David Jackman who established the Cornhill training course and was its first director. In ‘retirement’ he has a teaching ministry around the UK and abroad..
Our fundamental conviction is that when the Bible is preached, God’s voice is heard - that the Spirit of God takes the Word of God to do the work of God among the people of God.
Our aim is to encourage and equip pastor-teachers in the local church, a relentlessly demanding and often lonely work.
Bible expositions - to feed our minds and fire our hearts, given by an experienced pastor-teacher. Speakers are briefed not just to preach but to guide how to preach a particular book or section or genre. This can then be used as part of our own preaching schedule. Next year Robin Weekes will be teaching from the gospel of Matthew.
Preaching MOT workshops - in small groups listening to a recent sermon.
Prayer - together for one another to encourage us in our ministries.
Addresses - on key issues at the cutting edge of ministry. David Jackman will be speaking on going back to the basics of expository preaching.
Fellowship - with like-minded evangelicals across denominational lines and a breadth of ages and stages, working in the same challenging context.
Preaching MOT Workshops are a distinct and central feature of many preaching conferences. We do it this way: each workshop is small, with only four people. We listen to a recent recording of each other’s preaching. So zero preparation before the conference! You just need to send your sermon in advance.
Why Should I Come?
Here are some feedback comments from last year’s conference:
Fellowship with other pastors. Excellent teaching in comfortable surrounding.
The preaching groups with no prep(!) were realistic but hugely helpful. I’ve learned a great deal.
This was my first time on the conference and I’m looking forward to next year already.
Excellent venue and very good food!!!
It’s been a huge privilege and blessing to be here.
