London Preachers Conference February 2019!

London Preachers Conference 2019 will be on Tuesday 26 February (4pm) - Thursday 28 February 2019 (2pm) in Chesham, Buckinghamshire with speakers Charlie Skrine, Associate Rector St Helen’s Bishopsgate and Jonathan Prime, Pastsoral Ministries Director FIEC.

Our fundamental conviction is that when the Bible is preached, God’s voice is heard - that the Spirit of God takes the Word of God to do the work of God among the people of God.
Our aim is to encourage and equip pastor-teachers in the local church, a relentlessly demanding and often lonely work.

Key Components

Bible expositions - to feed our minds and fire our hearts, given by an experienced pastor-teacher.  Speakers are briefed not just to preach but to guide how to preach a particular book or section or genre. This can then be used as part of our own preaching schedule.

Preaching MOT workshops - in small groups listening to a recent sermon.

Prayer - together for one another to encourage us in our ministries.

Addresses - on key issues at the cutting edge of ministry. Next year Charlie Skrine Associate Rector, St Helen’s Bishopsgate, London will be giving four expositions and Jonathan Prime Pastoral Ministries Director FIEC will be giving two talks on Pastoring the Pastors.

Fellowship - with like-minded evangelicals across denominational lines and a breadth of ages and stages, working in the same challenging context.

Preaching MOT Workshops are a distinct and central feature of many preaching conferences.  We do it this way: each workshop is small, with only four people.  We listen to a recent recording of each other’s preaching. So zero preparation before the conference! You just need to send your sermon in advance.

Why Should I Come?

Here are some feedback comments from last year’s conference:

Fellowship with other pastors. Excellent teaching in comfortable surrounding.

The preaching groups with no prep(!) were realistic but hugely helpful.  I’ve learned a great deal.

This was my first time on the conference and I’m looking forward to next year already.

Excellent venue and very good food!!!

It’s been a huge privilege and blessing to be here.

When, where & how much?

The conference is run by the South East Gospel Partnership.  Dates for 2019 are Tuesday 26 February (4pm) - Thursday 28 February (2pm).  It is held in the Chartridge Conference Centre near Chesham, Bucks, HP5 2TU and costs £220, which includes all meals and your own ensuite bedroom.

SGP Annual Conference 2018

Sussex Gospel Partnership Annual Conference 2018

Saturday 10 November 2018, from 10am to 3pm

The King’s Centre, Burgess Hill, West Sussex, RH15 9LR

As you may remember, we are delighted that Dr Tim Lane is coming over from the USA this November to be the main speaker at our Annual Conference and other events during the week before the conference.

Our Annual Conference promises to be a great day as we come together to consider how The Gospel Changes Everything. Our new identity in Christ means we are to live in a new way. Everything is to change: our view of self; our relationships; our marriages; our work; our responses to success and failure, tragedy and trial, challenge and change.

Tim Lane will show us how God has given us all we need for real change, and how this works out in regard to real-life issues such as anger, purity and anxiety.  Three seminar options will be led by Tim, Helen Thorne and Steve Midgley.

Full details can be found on our website here, where you can download the flyer and make your booking(s).

Remember, it’s a day for ALL AGES as we have an exciting children’s programme for those in pre-school to Year 11.  However, places are limited so families do need to book early!

In the week leading up to the Annual Conference, Tim Lane will be leading three evening events for anyone looking for Biblical teaching and wisdom on dealing with the ever-present issues of Anger and Conflict.  The same training will be repeated at three different venues across the region, in Tunbridge Wells, Eastbourne and Hove.  Venue-specific flyers will be available soon.

Tuesday 6 November in Tunbridge Wells

Wednesday 7 November in Eastbourne

Thursday 8 November in Hove

Please join us in praying for all these events.  Pray that many will book to join us; for our speakers as they prepare; and for the Lord to stir us all to gospel-driven change in our lives, by the power of His Spirit.

If you require any further information, or copies of the event flyers posted to you, please contact Wendy Sands at

Yours in gospel partnership
