Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labour is not in vain.

1 Corinthians 15:58 (ESVUK)

As Gospel churches in partnership for the advance of the Gospel in the South East of England we engage in mission together because we believe that God is the God of mission.  Nothing will energise us more in the task we have been given, than to focus on the character of God who himself, out of love, sent his only Son into the world.  For those with responsibilities in leading the churches, as council members, elders, senior pastors and staff team members, our two days together provide an invaluable opportunity to ‘recalibrate’ at the start of a New Year.  The task remains as urgent as ever.  Our God remains the same yesterday, today and forever.  The opportunities are legion.  And the need for us to provide informed, focussed and zealous leadership is acute.  I anticipate these two days providing strong encouragement to us all for the year ahead, and look forward to seeing you there!   (William Taylor - Chair SEGP Committee)

This is an important two days for leadership teams, including senior pastors, elders/church council members, other leaders and church workers. Please join us for what we hope will be a significant time together for building up local churches to the glory of God. The Friday is of particular benefit to ministers and staff teams and the Saturday is of significant value to entire church leadership teams.  If at all possible please do not see them as alternative options but use both days to inspire, inform and equip your church leadership.

The price for Friday is £10.00 (£5.00 for students).

The price for the Saturday is £25 (for groups of 10 and over £20.00 or students £10.00) if you book before Friday, 15 December 2017 (£30 and £25 for groups of 10 and over thereafter), which includes refreshments and conference materials but DOES NOT INCLUDE LUNCH. Please bring or you can buy at a local vendor a packed lunch.

Please click here to book online and pay by bank transfer or click here to download a booking form and send it together with a cheque payable to ‘SEGP’ to Ruth Quilter, SEGP, c/o St Helen’s Church Office, Great St Helen’s, London EC3A 6AT. London Preachers Conference 2018

London Preachers Conference 2018 will be on Tuesday 27 February (4pm) - Thursday 1 March 2018 (2pm) in Chesham, Buckinghamshire with speakers Christopher Ash and Chris Green.

Our fundamental conviction is that when the Bible is preached, God’s voice is heard - that the Spirit of God takes the Word of God to do the work of God among the people of God.
Our aim is to encourage and equip pastor-teachers in the local church, a relentlessly demanding and often lonely work.

Key Components

Bible expositions - to feed our minds and fire our hearts, given by an experienced pastor-teacher (this year, Christopher Ash). Speakers are briefed not just to preach but to guide how to preach a particular book or section or genre. This can then be used as part of our own preaching schedule.

Preaching MOT workshops - in small groups listening to a recent sermon.

Prayer - together for one another to encourage us in our ministries.

Addresses - on key issues at the cutting edge of ministry. This year Chris Green will be speaking on working in teams.

Fellowship - with like-minded evangelicals across denominational lines and a breadth of ages and stages, working in the same challenging context.

Preaching MOT Workshops are a distinct and central feature of many preaching conferences.  We do it this way: each workshop is small, with only four people.  We listen to a recent recording of each other’s preaching. So zero preparation before the conference! You just need to send your sermon in advance.

Why Should I Come?

Here are some feedback comments from last year’s conference:

Fellowship with other pastors. Excellent teaching in comfortable surrounding.

The preaching groups with no prep(!) were realistic but hugely helpful.  I’ve learned a great deal.

This was my first time on the conference and I’m looking forward to next year already.

Excellent venue and very good food!!!

It’s been a huge privilege and blessing to be here.

When, where & how much?

The conference is run by the South East Gospel Partnership.  Dates for 2018 are Tuesday 27 February (4pm) - Thursday 1 March (2pm).  It is held in the Chartridge Conference Centre near Chesham, Bucks, HP5 2TU and costs £220, which includes all meals and your own ensuite bedroom. To book please click here.

Europe To the World and Back ( A Crosslinks Conference)

25 November 2017, 10am-3:30pm St Barnabas Kensington London - 23 Addison Road W14 8LH

Europe To the World and Back smaller

…the Gospel shall not be thus confined. It shall be preached freely unto all the world’ proclaimed Martin Luther on Ascension Day, 1523.

Shortly after Luther gave this sermon, the Reformation took hold of Europe. A handful of pastors and writers across northern Europe were gripped afresh by deep gospel truths and the Church reclaimed her vision for mission. In France alone, it took just 20 years for the number of Reformed congregations to rise from five to over 2,000.

At this event, we will explore how the rediscovery of God’s love and forgiveness in the Bible once fuelled the Church’s mission and how, today, it should do the same.

The event will include two plenaries from Michael Reeves, plus news and updates from Crosslinks workers across the globe. Tickets cost just £10 per person, £8 for Crosslinks Members and Friends and £6 for students. Lunch and refreshments are included.
